Oakwood Equine Management runs the stable at Ledyard Farm. Oakwood is owned and operated by
Ferial and Marc Johnson. The Johnsons offer a wonderful combination of teaching and training riding
and driving horses.
|
About the Johnsons
Ferial grew up in Sussex, England, where she was surrounded by horses from a young age. Her mother
was the local Pony Club District Commissioner, and Ferial participated in Pony Club activities
including mounted games, show jumping, dressage, and eventing. She also fox hunted with such famous
packs as the Eridge and Mid-Surrey farmers drags and the Coakham bloodhounds.

A small horse named Master Buster gave Ferial her introduction to the Classic Three Day event
and took her to the Advanced level.
Ferial also tried steeplechase and point-to-point racing, where she had some success on Late
Harvester. Ferial’s cousin, Jimmy Frost, won the Grand National in 1989 and twice won the Breeder’s
Cup Steeplechase on Morley Street.
|
Since coming to New England, Ferial has brought along many young event horses through the levels
and helped young and adult riders attain their goals.
